Outlook Express/Windows Live Mail

IMPORTANT: In all of the instructions below, replace "yourdomain.com" with your domain name and do not type in www.

The instructions below will walk you through setting up Microsoft Outlook Express/Windows Live Mail

  1. Start Outlook Express and click on Tools in the menu bar
  2. Select Accounts
  3. Click the "Mail" tab
  4. Click the "Add" button on the right hand side and choose the "Mail" option
  5. In the display name field, enter your name here
  6. Click the Next button
  7. Enter your email address
  8. Click Next
  9. For the server type, select POP3
  10. For the incoming and outgoing server boxes, enter mail.yourdomain.com (remember to use your own domain name here)
  11. Click Next
  12. Enter your email address in the Account name field
  13. Enter your password
  14. Click Next
  15. Click the Finish button
  16. Double click the mail.yourdomain.com
  17. Click the tab that is labeled "Servers"
  18. Click the box next to the label "My server requires authentication"
  19. AT&T, Verizon, Rogers, Shaw, Bell, Qwest, and Cox Internet Customers Only, see extra step: Click on the Advanced tab. Change outgoing port to 101
  20. Click on the Apply button
  21. Click on the "OK" button
  22. Click on the "Close"  button
