SecureMail: Patient Portal Instructions

Instructions below ONLY apply to SecureMail.

In this section, we will go over the following:


Sign Up Step by Step Instructions

  1. Your doctors office will send you a secure message asking you to sign up using their portal.
  2. You will receive a email similar to this below, follow the instructions within the email and click on the link to register:
  3. You will be asked to complete a very simple 7 field registration below:
  4. Select "Register Now" at the bottom once completed
    • Required Fields:
      • First Name
      • Last Name
      • Enter at least one phone field (cell phone and/or phone)
  5. A confirmation will provide you with further instructions to check your email to finalize your login.
  6. You will receive a email similar to this below, follow the instructions within the email and click on the link to register:
  7. This will lead you to the "Verify your Identity" screen:
    1. Select the correct number in the drop down to call or text your selected phone with the secret code.
    2. Select "Continue" to complete this request.
    3. Depending on the phone numbers you entered during setup, you can choose your option of a text message or call to receive your secret code!

      *Note if your cell phone is NOT an option in this drop down, you would not see a text message option above/below:
      • Make a call toYou should receive a call immediately, make sure you have a pen and paper before hand to write down the secret code. 
      • Send a text to: You should receive a text immediately, as seen below with your secret code.
  8. Enter your secret code received on the "Verify your identity" screen:
  9. Select "Continue"
    • Change Delivery Method:  Will allow you to use either your landline or cell phone number (if both were provided) to call or text your secret code
    • Re-Send Code:  The system will either call or text (depending on what selection you first made) the secret code to you again.  The old secret code will no longer be valid
  10. Accept the "Terms of Use" by scrolling to the bottom and selecting "Continue":
  11. Now you will be asked to set your password associated with this login:
    1. Note the Password Instructions on the RIGHT.
    2. Once you create your password, you will be asked to re-enter this same password directly below
    3. Select "Continue".
    4. Enter your username and the password just created to sign in:
      • Your username would be the email address that you received the initial MyPBHS invitation from.
      • If you wish for this website to remember your username, check the "Remember me?" check box.
      • Select "Sign In".

 How to Login, View and Reply to a Message

  1. Open a web browser (Google Chrome and/or Firefox are the preferred browsers)
    Downloads below if needed:
  2. in the TOP address bar type the following: https://portal.pbhs.com/ and select the ENTER key located on your keyboard:
  3. Enter your email address (used as your username) into the "Your Email Address" text field.
  4. Enter your associated password you previously created during setup within the "Your Password" text field.
  5. Select the "Sign In" button to login
  6. You will be presented with your online dashboard, select the "Secure Inbox" to view your messages:
  7. This will automatically take you to your first message within your inbox:
    • You can "Reply" to any message in your inbox by selecting the "Reply" button in your upper right hand corner of the message you are reviewing.  
    • You can "Archive" any message in your inbox by selecting the "Archive" button in your upper right hand corner of the message you are reviewing. 
    • This will move your message to your "Archives" folder to the far LEFT, and can still be replied to at anytime.

 How to view and update your Profile Settings:

  1. Once you login (follow steps from 1-4 in the above section)
  2. Select the "Update Profile" icon on your patient dashboard:
  3. Here you will be presented with 3 different tabs:

Account Profile:

Here you can view and change the following by typing the correct information into the appropriate field:

  • Email Address (required)
    Delete the email address that is currently in this field, and type in your new email address.  Note this will be your new username for your https://portal.pbhs.com login
  • First Name  (required)
  • MI (not required)
  • Last Name  (required)
  • Suffix (not required)
  • Phone
    *can be used for your two step verification to complete a "Forgot Password".
  • Cell Phone
    *can be used for your two step verification to complete a "Forgot Password".
    *can be used for notification of a new email.
  • Time Zone:  (not required)  
    You can set your time zone here, this will reflect the correct time stamps for your time zone within your secure inbox.

Make sure to click the "Save Profile" button once you make any changes to this page.  This will save your new changes!!

Tours

Here you can either:

  • Disable Tours:
    • Yes: Will turn OFF all tours
    • No:  Will leave tours on (if you have already completed a tour, it will not replay)...
  • Reset All Tours:  If this is selected, this will reset all tours to replay for each section. The next time you login you will be presented with ALL tours again.

Make sure to click the "Save Profile" button once you make any changes to this page.  This will save your new changes!!

Messaging

Here you can set your email notification each time you receive a new secure message:

You have received a new Secure Message:

  • Send me an email and SMS when this occurs:
    This will send an email notification and a SMS/text message (if you have entered your Cell Phone within your "Account Profile") each time a new email is received.
  • Send me a SMS when this occurs:
    This will only send a notification via SMS/text each time a new email is received  (this can only be used if you have entered your Cell Phone within your "Account Profile").
  • Send me a email when this occurs:
    This will only send a email notification each time a new email is received.
  • Do not contact me when this occurs:
    This will send no notification each time a new email is received.

Make sure to select "Save Profile" button once you make any changes to this page.  This will save your new changes!!
